My son is 9years old has 2big cavities and 2small.Dr is advicing nerve cleaning&crownsfor the the 2big cavities&silver filling for thesmaller ones.this decision was taken by seeing the X-ray taken from out (externally).His teeth are crooked & crowded also.The Dr.wants to do process of treatment by giving intravenous as she feels the child is not cooperating.Please advice me.

Is your child very apprehensive and intimidated by the entire prospect of the dental treatment? or else a 9 year old should be easily treated on the chair using a local anaesthetic. The treatment plan sounds reasonable, endodontic (nerve treatment) is the treatment of choice for deep lesions. The smaller ones could be restored using silver, or preferably "white" or aesthetic fillings, using a composite material. Back to All Questions
