Question
My daughter is 4 and is scheduled for labial separation at the end of the month....how positive is this procedure and are there any important things for me to know?
Answer
Your child must be having labial adhesions for which she must be undergoing a labial separation procedure. This is an office procedure and your doctor would use an anesthetic cream or patch and perform a blunt separation of the labia using a hemostat. In some cases, anesthetic sedation prior to the procedure may be done. Hope this answers your query.
