This study was done in a middle income country (central Mexico) which was done to determine whether multiple micronutrients (1-1.5 times RDA of vitamins A, Vitamin B6, B12,Vitamin C, folic acid, iron, zinc and other nutrients) given to children between 3-24 months of age improved growth and also whether multiple Micronutrient supplementation was better than only supplement containing iron and vitamin A. It was a randomized double blind controlled trial done in 650 children. Patient's growth was assessed at 3 months and at 24 months. It was found that infants with multiple micronutrient with median compliance of over 79% adherence were 1.6 cm taller than iron and vitamin A group. However in those with compliance below median, the difference was not significant. Thus regular multimicronutrient supplements increased the length of children who consumed them regularly from 3-24 months.
